Blogger’s Block

October 8th, 2010

Blogging is a simple concept. The post should be either informative or entertaining and the best are both. It should be written in a way that speaks to the masses while speaking directly to the reader. Most importantly, it should sound like something the writer would actually say. The best blogs read as if the reader is listening to a friendly conversation. Of course, there are blogs that sound like a training manual or a textbook– at least, there’s a rumor that those kinds of blogs exist. So, if blogging is just the written ‘spoken word’, why are they so hard to maintain?

Starting a blog is easy and often done with the best intentions. Editorial calendars are developed, topics are discussed, creativity skyrockets, and then the blank page staring back wins. So we wait, ponder, wait, start a post, delete a post, then time passes and we insist that our NEXT post has to be great due to the time that has passed since the last post.

What can be done–what should be done? Just like any large task, blogging should be broken down into bite-size, carpe diem pieces. Step away from that editorial calendar, move away from the detailed plan for blogging and just write. Write for today. Today’s post may be 500 words or 50; it doesn’t matter– just write. Tomorrow is another post and another topic– scratch that, let’s not think about tomorrow’s post.

Another option to consider is ghost blogging services. Ghost bloggers are professional writers that help maintain blogs by writing posts on behalf of the blog owner. Interested in learning more about ghost blogging services? Email us at info@bizadigm.com.

No time is no excuse.

Rework

No time is no excuse.

“If you constantly fret about timing things perfectly, they’ll never happen.”  This is highlighted in one of the short but spot-on chapters in Rework by Jason Fried and David Heinemeier Hansson.  It’s a quick read but one that will help you to re-evaluate your thoughts on everything from the start-up to the workaholic and why big isn’t always better.  It’s amazing what one book and a couple of hours will do to your perspective.  Check it out on Amazon.com.

What exactly is Bizadigm?

July 1st, 2010

Welcome to our blog. We are so glad you’re here! We’ll be blogging about small business news, technology, social media, book and service recommendations, and anything else we think provides value to both small businesses and service providers. We’re also on Facebook and Twitter, so check us out there too.

Business is always changing and more than ever in this economy. In fact, it’s just the kind of economic disruption that we’re currently experiencing that changes everything we once knew about business. We recognize the changing landscape and discovered a new way of conducting business.

So, what exactly is Bizadigm (pronounced: Biz-a-dime)? Bizadigm, a new paradigm for business, not only helps businesses adapt to this new frontier but supports and encourages them to get back to why they started a business in the first place. More often than not, businesses fail because they decide, consciously or not, that they must manage every aspect of their businesses themselves. Lean times only serve to exacerbate the situation. The problem is, they’re not usually qualified or able to manage every dimension productively, if at all.

Our philosophy, or business model, encourages business owners to get back to what they do best by sourcing non-incoming producing activities to our network of qualified professionals. We’ll orchestrate the match and manage the relationship from start to finish which saves time and money– immediate benefits to any business. We believe so strongly in this concept that we’ll provide our services to business owners at zero cost. On the flip side we help our network of service providers find their next project which helps to reduce or eliminate the cost and frustration involved with project downtime. Email us at info@bizadigm.com for more information on becoming a client or service provider.
